You probably better take ole hounddawg up on his offer to sell you some great hounds, cause bears fear him........and lions do as well!

History Buff huh, I figured you were more of the creative writing type.

I'll keep your offer in mind, but you've probably got a long line of guys waiting to witness history.

Plus why would I go with, when I know you're going to post a story of it on here afterward. Not to mention an additional story from years gone by to prove your hunting prowess.

Hounddawg,
That was a real neat video clip that Ike posted on here. Do you think I could tag along with you sometime? Got the elk killed Tuesday up Indian Canyon and seen someone in a tan toyota with dogs, was that you Ike? Kinda a heavyset feller with a cowboy hat? Had a big smile on his face so I thought they must be having some fun.

Now I can tell for sure I'll never get this whole internet thing down to a science. Someone here at work wanted to see that link you posted Dennis, and I'll be damned if I could find it. I searched for that thing for 10 minutes and they finally got bored and just walked away. And lo and behold you pulled it right up and posted it. Do you have one of those magic keyboards?

Now I have the link but can't remember who wanted to see it. :(

You might want to clarify a bit more about the history you're writing because I noticed the Miami Dolphins are also writing a bit of history this year. Not sure Nolte wants to come down to see that kind of history, there is probably guys in his backyard writing the same stuff. ;)

Thanks for the link, been trying to find that.

Hey Mutz,

Glad you liked the clip... some fellar from the newspaper decided he wanted to do a story on lion hunting. I told him I couldn't show him a lion but I could damn sure tell him a story.

Who knew we'd get lucky and bounce one the first day. It was no big deal, standard day in the hills for me... started a track on 13 day old snow, threw down six double deuce Aces and I told the guy to get his camera ready and pack his shit, he was going to a tree in 8 to 10 hours. No big deal really, a catch that Warner Glenn makes, the Lee brothers and maybe Wiley Carrol. But probably nobody else. But still no big deal, just a days work for me. ;)

Would you all please keep hitting that link? I get paid $25 dollars every time someone watches that link. I appreciate Ike posting it because I need some holiday cash... then I gotta pay my agent, my driver, my grounds crew, my PR people, my hair stylist, etc....

Having a posse is expensive so please people, go watch the link. I need the cash. It's lonely at the top. :D

man you really make this cat hunting thing sound fun. I have always wanted to go see one in a tree. Those houndogs of yours must be real good. I thought Ikes cat chase sounded good, but man I cannot believe that you guys can catch these elusive things under such extreme circumstances. I hope someone will let me tag along some day. I hear you have to be in tip top shape to go. I usually jog 4-5 miles every other day. I don't know how much you guys do to get in shape, but someday if you don't mind an extra body, I would sure pay for all the fuel and bring enough sandwiches for everyone. :D

Mutz,

If your real name happens to be Carmen Electra or Elle McPherson then you are invited to tag along any time.

But if you are running 4 to 5 miles every couple of days you better hook up with some other legends and race them to the tree.

I like getting my workout by doing arm curls, 12 to 16 ounces at a time. ;)

Besides, I hope you understand my position, with all the Paparazzi always after me for a photo or sound byte, I can't really be inviting strangers along hunting.

Unless of course you are one of the above names, then I'll have my people get in touch with your people. :D

And ya, my dogs are the greatest. They treed a 200 lb tom last night while I was sitting on a barstool talking to a cute redhead and they never left the kennel. I'd like to see your dogs top that! ;)

Maybe only Kevin has ever pulled off a feat more impressive.

You don't need to jog or exercise anymore, It's a secret that when you get to the top.. you get special collars on dogs, They are able to select how close to the road the dogs will tree...

Just tell him how far you want to hike from the road and he can set those collars to the right setting to give you the perfect hunt.

That's how they get us Hooked, they make it look easy, then start laughing at us when us newbies go and buy the wrong collars.

:)

You're welcome Brent, glad I could be of help to you! My wife tells me you get back in life what you send out, so if that little post was a help to you then you must have sent some good Carma my way first :?: Life is funny that way: I get to thinking of a friend I haven't heard from and before long that person calls........must be that stuff my wife talked about.

You guys are funny. Well if any of you change your mind and don't mind a guy hanging around some day while you run a cat, just let me know. I could even help look for tracks or something. I'm not real sure I would be able to tell how big it is as I have not seen many cougar tracks, but I would help out any way I could. :)

There are only a couple people who see alot of lion tracks in Utah. The rest of us seem to pass over the 500,000 lion tracks found on a given day in Utah.

Bearkiller isn't too far from wrong on the shortage of lion tracks Mutz. I have one friend that bought a trigg dog and started running yotes. He claimed he was tired of buying gas at $3.00 a gallon and not getting the dogs down a track.....now he gets out close to town on every trip.

That's correct buddy, and I remember when I got my magical set of collars and how it changed hunting for me. Now days I just put four dogs on top and strap those magical collars on them, drive down the road until the hounds roar and kick'em down. Those collars have scent detectors on them (cause lion and bear hunting is all about scent) and tell my hounds when a lion or bear has crossed so they can all bark and tell me. The world of electronics is just great. And if they don't catch I have a magical video camera that's programed with my hounds that super imposed them next to a tree with either a lion or bear in it..........
