rigging on the hood

I was told that it is illegal to put dogs on the hood to rig in wv that they have to be behind the cab does anyone know if this is true or not

The first and last time we rigged on the hood it was a cold morning and we had the heater on and one dog emptied out right on the vent intake and blew it right in our faces we both about gagged

I've heard they can ticket you. Obstruction of view. But I live in CA. Not sure if it's the same everywhere else.

I know none of mine have ever rode a box. On the hood is where they have always been....

I tell ya though, you get good at avoiding those accidents Make sure they clean out good. Females just seem to be a lot better up there. Makes me cringe to watch other people put males up and watch them hike there leg all over the windshield.

Ike The thought is the scent is cleaner for the strike dogs. I personally don't think it is needed but to each his own. If you saw last years set up i used you would shake your head. This year I went big time and built a wooden box with a rig platform. It probably won't make a difference in the bear count, just looks better.

Why would you want to put dogs up on the hood?

Some Guys run a camper shell on the bed so to the hood if you want to rig. It is also nice for young dog, you can watch them work.
