tri tronics

Post by robbyson99 »

I'm going to cabelas tonight to purchase a new e collar system. I'd like some opinions on the best system to get. I'm thinking of getting the tri tronics G3 EXP. I just don't know if that's the best to get or not. I want the ability to expand for more collars and something strong enough for a hard hard headed bluetick. He's mostly broke now but from moose and I've tried several systems that just won't stop him. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thank you. Corey

Trashbreaker EXP...IMO the only choice for houndsmen.

Like Brady said TRASHBREAKER.. Exp.. no range on the clasic 70s.. said to be one mile.... BULL FEATHERS! might get out 1/4 but the other brands are not as dependable as Tri-Tronics.

Thank you guys. The cheapest I've seen the system is 419. Cabelas has it in stock so I'm headed there now. Again thanks for the help. Corey

Buddy that owns this site is a TT dealer and is running a sale, might check that out first and keep it in the "Family".

I say the classic 70 is just fine. I stand by the rule if I can not see what they are running then you should not, I repeat should not, zap them. I have had one, CL 70, for four years and not had a problem with it reaching far enough. E collars are a nice tool but they can be used with negetive results. There are a lot of other things that you can do before it is needed. I do agree though the EXP system is the way to go. That is a nice feature.

I agree with you 100 percent REED. My problem is a hard headed bluetick. I put him on a moose last bear season because he had run a few in the past. I had a e collar on him and I zapped him on full throttle when he opened up. He layed flat on his belly until I let go of the button. He jumped up and kept going on the moose. I zapped him 4 or 5 more times and he just kept jumping up and kept going. I believe with the right collar and work this year it will be different. He has his head on straight now and with the correct work will finish him off this season. I need a good collar for this reason. If I catch him during bear season on a jumped moose I need him to stop not hesitate and get further away from me. Liontracker. Does buddy charge shipping do you know? Thank you. Corey

I'd would defiantly go with Tri-tronics classic 70 of trashbreaker I've used both, both were nice units.

Ok. Here's a question. I bought the tri tronics pro 100 G3 exp tonight. I realized after that there was a difference between what I bought and the trashbreaker G3 exp. The one I bought goes up to 3 dogs and is one mile range. Plenty for me. Is the intensity levels stronger on the trashbreaker or should they be about the same? There's so many out there I wasn't really sure

So what did you end up with? And are you happy w/ it and it's range?
