I have used both Wildlife and Quick Track systems...both are good in my opinion.

The Wildlife box has the best range, but seems susceptible to radio interference.

The Wildlife collar is put together better, and has a much better mechanism for holding the magnet in place.

Yup thos wildlife callors hold the magnet better no way is it coming out if you forget to take the magnet out and turn dogs out. Has happened and I would rather the magnet fall out.

I have a R410 Advanced telemetry systems, that I bought from Johnson and Johnson collars, my set up works good for me. We also have a RB box from Johnson that works good also.

The best one is the one that you know how to use and have confidence in, doesn't matter what name is on it.

I'd about bet that if you put a bunch of time in with any box, you'd get real good at using it.

I have used only 3 type of tracking systems in the passed. WL AT and Marshall.
Only diff is Marshall right out of the box its as easy as 123. Thanks to Ozna I got to see the Marshall before I bought it.

The collars well I was going to buy WL collars but after using the Marshall collars I will not change. I have seen 1 collar use more batt then normal so I make sure I change them out before my next hunt. I plan on sending it into Marshall to see if they can fix it. I figure its got to be a manufacture defect. Since my other collars are not having that issue. But it could also be that the dog chewed up the ant. Who knows I not really worried. I was out hunting with a friend and he was on same frq and I found my collars were stronger even the collar that used more batt. So figure there nothing wrong with it.

Like Nolte stated you put time into any one box you will get really good at using it.

I have used the wildlife equipment for years and about 3years ago I bought a Magnum box and a couple collars and I love the box,it's sensative and with the attenuator switch it is very accurate in the canyon country I hunt in, the collars are as good as any I've used also and also the box is totally programable so ya can pick up any freq. Hello everybody, I can't knock any collars really due to the fact that all I use are Johnson Collars and a Wildlife box ( the 1000). I hunt for coon in the Islands and hunt for Bear, Fox and Bobcat in the mountains and them collars work really well. I like them cause they give a good strong signal.
Hope this helps and like I said, this is just my opinion on what I use for tracking my dogs.

ive been running a tracker maxima and this year i picked up garmin astro and after using that and my tracker for back up i think the astro is great, havent broken an antenna yet and it is so fast and easy to pinpointthe dogs i can stay right with them almost all the time when using the topo map screen. i like it enough that i picked up a second collar last month.

I love my Marshall. Crisp, Clear, Long Range, Reliable.

If cost is not an issue (and it shouldnt be as most units/collars are similarly priced) just get all Marshall equipment...... or you can buy one of my old units/collars that these fancy little Marshalls have replaced??????

So guys if I want a tracking unit that I can carry with me all day without it weighing me down and getting caught up in the brush, but will still do the job, what would it be?

if you can run fast you dont need a box. i like my quick track untill wildlife makes a suitcase that covers all freq....thats nice if u can get a deal on used collors u dont have 2 worry, just snatch em up.
