Slow, I understand your CA politics. You have the 5th largest economy in the world, there in CA. How are those liberal politics working for you now? Life must be peachy there with no unemployment, huh? Hard workers really aren't poor for long. They move right into the middle class. People are willing to pay for good workers. You're right, the problem isn't the disabled, children and older people. It's a society that expects the government to take from others and give it to them. Whats' wrong with earning your way through life?

Nothing wrong with work i agree as long as its honest work.
Im new here to California but I do find it a nice place to live.
California is one of the very few states that pay more into the federal government than it takes out.
I dont think Gov Arnold was a liberal but Brown is repairing his mistakes.
So the disabled ,the elderly and children need to get a job.
Question is social security a hand out?Or did the government steal it and now its time to pay back its called an entitlement.
Are the veterans that served 20 years with the promise of lifetime health care and now find it was just a lie are they the problem.
The banks that robbed this country and created this mess need to pay .Theirs was not honest work.
Im tired of trying to reason with you guys have it your way

This was written by a 21 yr old female who gets it. It's her future
she's worried about and this is how she feels about the social welfare big
government state that she's being forced to live in! These solutions are
just common sense in her opinion.
This was in the Waco Tribune Herald, Waco , TX , Nov 18, 2011
PUT ME IN CHARGE . . .
Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash
for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans,
blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want
steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.
Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women
Norplant birth control implants or tubal legations. Then, we'll test
recipients for drugs, alcohol, and nicotine. If you want to reproduce or use
drugs, alcohol, or smoke, then get a job.
Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks?
You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair.
Your home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be
inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your
own place.
In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week
or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways
of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We
will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo
and speakers and put that money toward the "common good.."
Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of
the above is voluntary. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you
say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin their "self esteem," consider
that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing
absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.
If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at
least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system
rewards them for continuing to make bad choices.
AND While you are on Gov't subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes,
that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will
voluntarily remove yourself from voting while you are receiving a Gov't
welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.
Now, if you have the guts - PASS IT ON...
Anyone that can agree with concentration camps which is what shes proposing and neutering women is a dangerious radical
.Is this the kind of country you want children in camps ,poor people not allowed to vote whats next killing seniors.
If someone becomes disabled off to the camps .
That is a very hate filled disturbed young lady Hitler would have loved her.
Then you claim to be great Christians. Look at history to see where this leads .You dishonor the men who fought and died for our freedoms. You people make me sick.

She never said anything about poor people you did. Hell I am poor but I still have a job and don't sit on my ass looking for hand outs from the government.

Yes thats true.
I grew up very poor my father never took any help worked all he could.and as soon as i could i worked.
I myself by the grace of God am not poor but I have never forgotton what poors like.
In this country there is a great number of working poor doing the best they can .But their best cant feed their familys.
Some people exploit the sysyem true but most want off the system.
I also grew up in the country where if your neighbor is down you help him.So I guess im a product of my raisin.
We can not abandon the children in this country without paying a great price.
If you have ever been hungry its a whole lot easier to understand hunger were better than than that

if you are disabled and cant work thats one thing. my main concern is supporting the lazy people that wont make an effort to work. the people that just sit around all day doing drugs making babys and collecting a check. why should we help someone that wont help themselves?

In the Old Testament, God gave them a system for helping the poor. The farmer would leave the corners of his field unharvested, allowing the poor to harvest those areas. The farmer was not expected to harvest, process, package, and present it to the poor. He was only asked to provide the poor an opportunity to help themselves. Squandering resources by giving them to people who clearly lack the ability, or the willingness, to make good life choices is not compassion, it's foolishness. By the way, will someone produce one solid, verifiable, fact to prove that Iraq was about oil? Facts not to be confused with mindless ranting and spewing of bitter frustration.

Well said Papa. novel idea. No one appreciates things they do not earn.
