Hard to believe
Folks!
Yesterday Dad and I were traveling to Florida. We were driving along US 78 just East of Tupilo, MS when we saw a large male Bobcat freshly killed on the side of the HWY. The Cat was laying just off the traffic lane on the paved shoulder, you could see it a ways before we got to him!
Dad commented that there was a Varmit ahead that looked like a dead Bobcat. As we passed it Corky and Rivers blew up! Dad looked at me and said "Ain't Nobody going to believe that", he asked how fast was I going. 65 mph I answered, "DAMN" he said "this is hard to believe."
As we have said before a dead Cat very seldom elicits a response from the Hounds, but this Cat had not been dead long, the Hounds were bored (after 7 hours of riding in the truck, so was I) and the Air was just right. Still @ 65 mph it was tough to believe!
So Long and Good Running to All!

Ron Collins still has the big bluetick he got from you.
We are going to chase some cats next week.
He lives in some really good cat country.
The last time I hunted with the Bluetick, he got lost & Ron never found him for 3 months.

Hmm...the only dog I can think of is Duke. Is that him? If it is he was out of two dogs named Pete and Belle that were suppossed to be real good lion dogs from some friends of mine that used to hunt with Van Johnson. Only time I got to hunt with them was on bear. Pete and Belle were some Van dogs. Am I thinking of the right dog? Does he like him?
Ps. Better put a Garmin and a zapper on him this time

C.J., that's amazing
I don't think we humans will ever understand how a hounds nose works.
Saw two of my young dogs, Dusty and Lovey run a hare past me today. The hare was going warp speed and the hounds were sight chasing, but they were in thick spruce trees! There was no way those dogs could have seen that hare. They were off the track and never put their nose down, but it sure looked and sounded like a sight chase to me!

My potlickers blow up everytime I drive by a dead coon or cat at 65 or 70mph and even better if a live critter runs across the road. I think my dogs do it so easy because I haul them in a box made from welded wire and is very open.

Big N Blue,
They should change the name of that stuff from "40 Creek" to "40 Vision" as it makes a man see and hear things!
Did something last night that was a first for me! We caught two Cat last night before midnight. Both ran a little over and hour. I have been with Dad when we caught two before but it was after midnite when we caught #2. Had two great races one close enough to record(I know I am behind on sending them but I'll geterdone this week).
Rigged both Cat but a lot slower than 65 mph.
Good Running to All!
