Dad's dogboy
Dad's dogboy
C John, There is a saying "you dont know what you got till it's gone". Well, I have not seen you post in awhile, and it's starting to bug me, dangit.
I keep wondering if your dad is OK, and find myself praying for him. I hope everything is alright. I know he has to deal with a lot of pain and such, but we wish him a happy Christmas season in spite of all that.
Please tell him we appreciate so much what he and his son have brought to this board. I still am blown away that you guys share such hard earned knowledge so freely.
Consider this a Christmas card and a get-well card from us on here that appreciate you folks so much.
P.s. tell him that music cd you guys made of his dogs is some of the best music I ever did hear. Takes me where I need to go.

I shouldn't even be typing on this post, but I have to say dido or I agree. If I see a Dad's Dogboy post, I read it and reread it, then think about it and reread it again. So much good information, so humble, and just so fun to read. Keep it up and tell your dad too, he has some fans!
Re: Dad's dogboy
Not true at all, please, if you feel as I do, "sign the card" by all means.Clarka57 wrote:I shouldn't even be typing on this post
Wish we could just say the word, and he would feel 100% healed, but at least we can wish him well.

I'm guessing Mr. Finney is keeping C. John so busy hunting those Clay hounds he doesn't have time to entertain and educate us

A man is not very smart that can,t find his wife 2 jobs.

Mr. Dog Boy and Mr. Finney are in Florida doing Ok. They wanted me to post that they are fine and have caught 2 toms so far and Dog Boy said to thank everyone for their concern and as soon as he gets a chance to get on the computer he will fill everyone in.

Man, that is good news! I think the Greek word for messenger is "angel" or something like that, so I guess you are It Big N Blue! Bet you never thought you'd be called that. Ha Ha.Big N' Blue wrote:Mr. Dog Boy and Mr. Finney are in Florida doing Ok. .
Well I am flying out today to my aunts funeral, and thinkiing of all the things I wished I had said to her. So Mr C John Clay, and Mr Finney Clay just wanted to say something in case my plane crashes or something and I never get the chance again.
I want to throw my same hope right in there next to Milts'.Hipshooter wrote:Mister Clay has one of the best packs of bobcatdogs in the world.

But also wanted to say a couple more things.
If this was a board for people who love to play and learn about football, this is really the feeling I get: We are reading what Brett Favre is sitting there typing while Joe Namath is telling him a few things to add in there.
This stuff seriously should be archived in the Library of Congress. Seriously. Then those who study cultural anthropology can sit there and study it and marvel at it. An those who hunt bobcats in future generations can read it and be entertained and educated.
I will tell you one thing I love about it, maybe more than anything else: It is kinda of like reading the Bible. Here is why: the Bible never hides the struggles and hardships and failings of it's heros. When you write, Mr C John Clay, you never hide the struggles you guys have sometimes.
... And yet, there are days when you cant find a track... and that gives me hope. There was a day when the dogs did not locate a bobcat in a culvert... and that gives me hope. There are days when you can strike tracks but the dogs cant do anything with it... and that gives me hope. There is a time when you have to start looking for outside dogs for your breeding program... you might even pick up a pup from Al that trees better than your dogs... and on and on. You dont hide the real life stuff. There is no need to because it does not change what you have and what you are. These things give us hope because they are exactly the same struggles we have. On those days of discouragement when nothing seems to go right, we can think about Finney Clay and C John Clay and realize they experience exactly the same thing at times.Hipshooter wrote:Mister Clay has one of the best packs of bobcatdogs in the world.

Thanks for educating and entertaining and giving hope.

Re: Dad's dogboy
Folks!
Thanks for all the good words. They are truly a blessing.
Dad had a little spell last week that we thought would keep him down; however we forgot just how tough he is.
The Dr.s said it was a mini-stroke, but after three days he was throwing a fit to come to FL. the Utopia of Bobcat Hunting. The Dr said not to fight him about it, if he was strong enough to ride to take him as another episode might never happen or could be the big one. That he should do what he wants for as long as he wants!
We caught one Monday with the two old bitches and 5 pups including the Irish Pup from Tony and all did very well with bad scenting conditions. Caught another last night with the main Hounds that Dad says was the smartest Cat he has run in years.
Dad said that if I could find a Cat to run like that twice a week, he would live to be 99!
I will post Pics and story tomorrow. I have to come to town to post as we do not have Cell sevrice at the Camp. Hand are pretty full so please be patient.
Thanks Again for the Card and all the Nice words!
