tritronics collars
I was wondering at what age you can start using the collars for training? My redbone pups are almost 12 weeks old.Just thought I would buy one and use the tone not the shock just for basic training so they start getting use to it .Cheers Kurt

That probably wouldnt hurt them at all and would actual teach them to learn earlier in life what it means and what it would lead up to if they disobey. But becareful about shocking them too early.

I dont know, thats really up to you and more people probably have more experience then me. It also depends on the dog, definetly dont want to shock a shy dog, or a dog that doesnt take much discipline to learn from a mistake. But there are some hard headed dogs that I would say you could start using it on them as early as 6 months old. I have one that will not learn for the life of him. He's not trashy or anything like that, just doesnt learn when he does something he's not suppose to. Takes repeative disciplinary actions just to get him to listen. He is smart just hard headed

Thanx very much for your knowledge,I'm not sure yet how the hounds are going to turn out,the female seems like she is going to be a smart dog,the male on the other hand looks like he is going to be a hard nut to crack but I think its a little early to tell.Do you run blue tics? One of my buddies runs 2 blue tics, they are incredible hounds for lions,he also runs a majestic and a walker still pretty young hounds time will tell.Have a Happy New Year and good hunting.Cheers Kurt
