CA F&G Comission Meeting Feb 3 in Sacramento

Post by Peter Meyer »

The first Fish and Game Commission meeting of the year will be Feb. 3-4, 10:00 am at the Resources Building Auditorium, 1416 9th St., Sacramento. Show up and ask the commission to change F&G code 265.(d)(1)(2). This is the prohibition on treeing collars and gps collars. We all know of the institutional bias Fish and Game has for houndsmen in California and the only way to overcome it is to show them we are articulate, lawful, sportsmen requesting a reasonable change to regulations of our sport. I don't know if any of the board members have participated in a hound hunt, I doubt it, but they need to know that almost all houndsmen only use the tracking gear as a last resort. I could go on and on but I'll save it for the board. I'm also going to follow up on the CHC donation to take the place of the HSUS blood money and the opening of bear season in San Luis Obispo county, and the possible removal of the in season harvest quota. These last two issues were tabled last year under pressure from the animal rights groups. Please show up and fight the good fight. I can help with some prepared statements if you want to show up. Any questions send a pm. I'll be there to fight for your rights. -Pete
