San Luis Obispo Tribune Bear Hunt Article Innaccuracies
Reporter David Sneed of the San Luis Obispo Tribune wrote an article entitled San Luis Obispo bear hunt sought. In the first paragraph he refers to the proposal as "trophy hunting of black bears" , a key phrase the antis always use in their propaganda. He also states that "The proposal is similar to one made last year. The commission postponed authorizing that hunt for a year in order to address concerns raised by the public." WRONG! The commission tabled the issue due to the threat of a lawsuit regarding the negative declaration for the EIR. He also states "Two county supervisors also complained that the decision was being made without giving county residents and opportunity to comment at a locally held hearing." WRONG! The April Commission meeting is being held in Monterey and that's local enough for me. It's pretty obvious where this guy stands. See you at the Sac. meeting. -Pete
