Accidental Breeding

Post by ncmailman »

Came home. My best male was hung on my best female. Promblem is they are full mates. I've never raised pups out of either. They're both exceptional dogs. Their only fault being they don't bark much. just wondering if anybody else ever had this to happen and how did the pups turn out? Thanks for any information.A

ncmailman, if it were me, id raise the litter to 6 months and pick through them. You should be able to tell what you have by then. Like twist said you might be suprised....they will either be really good or spin in circles chasing their tails. "Thats why we cut our dogs tails off" got tired of watching them spin all day long....kinda hard to trail when they are doin that.

Keep us posted on the pups, jason
I'm thankful for being dumb and slow, then i don't have to over think this stuff.

In my very limited understanding of linebreeding, I believe it should REALLY intensify ALL the traits. Meaning, if they're both silent trailers, chances are good most of the pups will be too. What's the breeding on the dogs?

These dogs are a careful mix. They are 1/2 walker, bulldog, bluetick, and a little bit of cur. They may not be what many other people would want but they work for me. They are rough on game in rough company but not overly gritty just by themselves. They tree pretty good, just not with alot of mouth. They run to catch and fight game close. I've owned this stock of dogs for about 4 generations. That's more than alot of folks know about their dogs personally. They suit me for hogs and mostly bear. They have "want to". I think that matters most. I hope if she has pups that they will be just like their parents. Thanks for the input. Maybe they won't have 5 legs and 3 eyes.
