Friends thanks for the great response I have recieved from you all it is great to hear from you.

I have a Wildlife Materials tracking system for my hounds at this time and it has been a fantastic tool to have saving me hounds,money and time and helping me locate lost staff in wilderness areas.How does this Garmin product shape up in comparison - I would appreciate some comments.

Roy those Garmins are the real deal. the area I guide can be very remote and knowing where your dogs are the whole time and not having to guess is reassuring. They have allowed me to get clients in tho trees that would not have happened otherwise due to darkness or terrain. Well worth the money. Once you use them you will wonder how you ever got by without them.

I agree. You'll spend less time looking for dogs also because you can not only tell where they are but which way they are going. Also, you don't have to stop what you are doing (driving or walking) to track the dogs. You can also tell easily if you have a dog messing around and not doing his part.
With those tight mouth dogs you're talking about in another post the Garmins would be especially helpful. Know where the silent dogs are in relation to the open dogs.

Roy, there has been a ton of information posted about the Garmins. Just go back through some of the older posts and you can read everything that has been written to date. I think about the only faults that have been posted is that the batteries in the collars are only good for two days. Do NOT use high powered radios with the Garmins as they will kill the Garmin quick. Also the range in mountainous country is a little too short but even with all that, the units are outstanding in helping locate your dogs. You'll also be able to watch the race on the unit and see which dogs are really doing all the work.

i was on a hunt last week and we were able to drive tree canyouns down and drop in on the dogs all by the garmin plus the dogs sounded a ridge away but they wernt the unit told us 710 yards and to dogs were going in and out of signal the guy i was with made the call that it was in a cave and it was i orderd mine that night you can also program your truck or house
