Re: Artificial insemenation
We have collected and bred our own dogs that had trouble breeding for one reason or another.
It isn't hard to find the supplies on-line. Don' have the websites with me at the moment. Google canine artificial insemination supplies. You will need the plastic collection baggie, the pipette, and a syringe. You can also find good instructions and hints online.
Masturbate the dog into the baggie, the semen runs out into the syringe. Thread the female's cervix with the pipette and push the semen into the uterus.
It is best to have a breeding box that you can put the female into. You want her rear end elevated for 10-15 minutes so the semen runs downhill into the her uterus and not run back out onto the ground.
Best to also check your semen under a microscope for motility and numbers before the insemination.

It cost me a little over $300 and is $80 a year to store, no matter how much you have collected.

How many years can you store it? How long is it good for?
