Brent Switzer's Charlie was the best stud dog I know. He is not longer alive, but hopefully Ozzy will follow suit.

As far as leghound's (aka leg humper) opinion on this matter goes I suggest you that you come up with some sort of evidence as to why Kemp's dog's are so fricken special.
Sounds to me like you know the man to me are trying to sell his dog's. My question is why is he not on here trying to promote his own product. My god, if they are such WONDERFUL dog's you think that he would be. I have heard some pretty tragic things as to the quality of dog's that he has. I have found these things out by actually doing some research and knowing the best hound experts in the country.
I challenge Mr. Kemp to join this forum and explain why he is the "Best in the West"
Mr. Kemp, if your buddies are going to be on here rubbin your back and ticklin your sack, let's here it from the man who is the "Best in the West".

Re: Best stud dog that you know?
Personally I've never met him so the "King" comment probably wasn't the right thing to say I'll give you that. I have talked to him on the phone a few times and he's been more than willing to tell me anything i want to know. I do have a dog that's mom was out of his stock and he is a great bear dog, I have talked to some guys that have hunted with him and they have nothing but good to say about him or his dogs. the other guy with the arrow comment is probably a happy customer. As for the reason why Mr. Kemp not getting on here and thumping his own chest and bragging about himself I can't tell you the answer to that but my guess would be he is probably humble and doesn't need to. his video pretty much covers that.

Wapatislayer, I do not know Mr. Kemp and have never seen one of his dogs, but I would guess that he manages to sell his dogs without coming on here and putting up with a bunch of BS that people like you write.

Re: Best stud dog that you know?
I would like to hear about Mike Kemp's stud dogs, looking to get a female bred this fall. Wapatislayer,I have heard nothing but good things about Kemp dogs. Sure would like to know who the best hound experts are though I don't know Mike Kemp but I doubt that he needs to prove anything to your dumbass.
Re: Best stud dog that you know?

I can't choose one over the other for the fact that they all 3 are bear smashin' hounds. Each will bay the meanest dog-eatin bear without company all day long. I'm not talking about walkin behind and boo-hooin at his ass... I'm talkin right up in his face- stoppin him.
Brent Ottosen's Ike dog, a walker, (now deceased- killed by a bear) threw some absolutely outstanding pups. At 6 months old his pups were screamin fast trackers, treein like a big dog, stayin with bayed bears for as long as it took and fighting them up close and personal. Just completely natural hard core bear catchin' machines! I'm a plott fan and I would absolutely love to own a pup outa Ike or even outa his pups. The pups also switch right over and blow fox and cats apart.
Bones (plott) and Rooster (plott out of Bones) are also both excellent stud dogs. They are hardcore bear dogs but will also smoke cats and fox. I personally own a pup out of Bones that's a full sibling to Rooster. To say the least, I am thrilled with him. I wouldn't trade him for anything. He's been a natural from day one and I've seen lots more pups outa bones and rooster both that were early starters.. Running/treeing/baying at 6 months old. Yes they can keep up with the speed demon pack that Brent runs. These dogs go the extra mile to get a track started and never miss a chance to hunt. Holes or not.. they will go. I can't count the number of times that i've seen staples in these young dogs and never have I seen one of them get backed off because of it.
To each their own.. but if you want my opinion the real deal on dogs that can catch bears day in and day out in any terrain and reproduce the same or better... you can't beat Ike, Bones, and Rooster.
On top of having outstanding reproducing stud dogs, Brent doesn't have brood bitches, his are proven day after day bear biting alligators before they are ever bred, and go right back to hunting once the pups are weaned.

Re: Best stud dog that you know?
Well, Bones is 10 years old and still a hell of an alone beardog and still reproducing the same. I just witnessed 5 1/2 month old pups out of Bones.. treeing every breath on a real tree. Same with a pup of the same age out of BuzzRod who is out of Ike. These aren't stud dogs that have been bred once or twice and threw a few nice pups, these are stud dogs that have been bred to several different females and some of them more than once and repeatedly produced gritty, early starting, full throttle pups. I'm not taking someones word for what they heard from some other houndsman... I know what these dogs are and what they produce because I've seen them all work in the woods, not in a bay pen or a critter in a cage. Like I said, I own a pup out of Bones and have my name on a waiting list for another and for a pup out of Ike's daughter.
