A friend of mine that breeds lurchers in Ireland made me aware that the Green Party there is trying to ban the use of hounds for stag hunting and dog breeding in Ireland. The Green Party there is doing all they can to get this bill passed. Even though it doesn't directly effect our hunting in the USA with hounds, it does prove as an axample what could happen if a certain politcal party gets the backing from the general public. The houndsmen there are in for the fight of their lives as my friend says if this is passed then fox hunting, coursing and other hunting would soon follow. Just as in Britain these are traditions and ways of life that go back hundreds of years. It is something we should all take notice of as hound owners.
The same Green Party is also trying to ban dog breeders by putting tough restrictions on them calling anyone that has more than a certain number of dogs, puppy farms. Another thing we should pay attention to as well.

To true Tessa , we gotta combat all of these types and beware, they might have been infiltrating our very organisations to find out more on how we operate for some time now. They might even serve on exco's of hunting associations as I believe has happened in Namibia and South Africa.
In Namibia they have brought in huge amounts of Chinamen on contracts though I believe they have no intention of ever leaving. They a big threat to our welfare in Africa and more so our wildlife resources ( Ivory , Rhino horn , Marine life etc, etc ).
Last year I was filling my pickup with gas and some nosey A - Hole asked what I did with all the dogs I carted around. I told him I collected the dogs for the Chinese consulate because the chefs needed them for the menu. That shut him up pretty quickly.
Yup they actually more satisfied with that explanation than if you told them you used the hounds for tracking calf killing leopard. " Ooo - how could you kill the poor leopard. " Bumb bricked in city slickers !!
Cheers - Roy.

liontracker, that is why I posted this and the link to the video. The scarey thing is they have the bill on the table there already just waiting for the vote. If this can happen in the countries where hound hunting started hundreds of years ago just think what will happen if it happens here. Very scarey stuff indeed. I am going to keep my eye on this issue in Ireland and see what the outcome is. Houndsmen worldwide need to support eachother in this fight I do believe.

Yes BHP, the very same way the radical left movement starts in California and migrates to Boulder Colorado and then to the rest of this country, is the same vehicle that will move the elimination of all hound hound hunting from England, to Africa, to Ireland and finally to the US.
