wont stay with the pack

i got a 14 month old hound who will run with the pack for a few hours but will wonder off. He came back to the other day to the road injuried it looks like he got smacked around by bear. I dont know if he is getting bored with the chase. he has only been on bears 3 times.How do i keep him running with the pack for the whole race?

save him for the end of the chase so you can see what is really going on . also not letting him run when the rest of the pack is out running should eat at him enough so he will try harder . unless you think he is just out of shape or ill in any way. maybe that bear changed his mind on carrying through with a whole chase .just because a dog will still run a bear doesnt mean they will carry through to the end once they go soft .
