OK. Thanks for the tip. Is it legal?

Also, which way is correct and which is upside down on the Intelo's, I have been trying to figure out the proper way since I bought these used. Thanks

You should probably look into it with your fish and game officer to make sure it is a legal "fix". I know that on my WCTS and my friends Jhonsons collars, if you have the antenna comming up the dogs right shoulder the switch will activate when they are treed, or running up hill.

Some claim that turning your collars around (like putting the antenna on the left side for Johnson collars) is sufficient. I know one guy who does it regularly, and not ticket yet. But I am waiting for him to run into the wrong warden who checks it out. My guess is that it is gambling and eventually he will end up with a ticket and having to determine if the chance of losing is worth the fight.
If you were from out of state and only here for a short period, and the warden had some common sense (another gamble); I could see a reasonable argument being presented. If you are a CA resident and have switches, I fail to see how you could win the argument that running the collar reversed is your only mode of operation. I wouldn't buy it if I was a warden or a judge.
If a guy wanted to ignore the regulation and risk the consequences, maybe consider extra collars for those specific occasions in order to minimize exposure.
I had mine removed many years ago when the regulation was imposed, and sticking my neck over the line for such a slight convenience isn't even a consideration.

The use of tracking collars equipped with treeing switches is prohibited in Calif. it don't matter if the collar is put on backwards or not. Call F&G ask them. Talked to a guy from Washington that got a ticket for $2000.00 call Gary at West coast Tele. ask him. he knows the guy

If you flip it around isn't it going to then beep when they put there head down??That would be pointless because if there actually hunting it would be beeping fast all the time..................

Like I said, definatly call fish and wildlife. It double beeps on trail but not at the tree. It is purly a judgment call on the officers part. Out of state probably has more chance of getting away with it than a resident, but run into the wrong guy and its all over. I find it werid that you guys still have bear hunting, but can't run GPS or tree switches. In Oregon we can run them but not bear. At least you guys have CHC working for you. Keep up the good fight.
