hey,

is there a all around book for horses/mules.. kind of like the walk with wick of horses :P lol.. i want one on how to brake/train/ride/buy/saddle/equip/ride/what to and not to do exc. exc......

i saw where someone asked something similar, but it was about trail horses.. im wantin to know it all

I would recommend any book by either Tom or Bill Dorrance ane anything by or about Ray Hunt. These guys are the founders of the modern day "horsemanship".

Google or Amazon should be able to take it from here.

Buck Brannaman also has a series of DVD's and a book or two as well.

You would be amazed at how much info there is available today compared to not too many years ago with the advent of the internet and digital technologies.

Clinton Anderson, Chris Cox, Dennis Reis just to name a few put out some very good instructional dvd's on just about anything you would like to know from handling foals, proper tack, hoofcare, nutrition, training, competition, you name it.

Thanks walley.. I plan on purchasing some of them next wednesday.. there's a arabian horse thats solid black i road the other day and i want to make sure that its good and what all i need to buy/fix/ do and all that other stuff.. i guess i can just put her out in the field with my cows.. but thanks for the info guys!!!

Don't overlook the series of books that Western Horseman magazine put out. They cover several different disciplines, but I've read through a couple and find them to be a good source for the novice horse owner.
