English Houndsmen, Would You Go As Far?
The other night watching some mindless reality show on riots they showed 10,000 English Houndsmen protesting in front of the House of Commons during the vote to ban fox hunting in England. As they tried to enter the House of Commons the English riot cops and bobbies beat the crap out of them with nightsticks. Serious head knocking and bleeding. The houndsmen's only weapon the cry "FREEDOM". No cops were injured but over 40 houndsmen were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. It got me thinking, when it came down to it, just how far would I go to defend my individual freedoms, especially hound hunting? The answer is complicated. Going to jail could screw up my right to own a firearm, Even a misdemeanor arrest could complicate my ability to run hounds, especially in California. I respect the tough job California's game wardens have regardless of the institutional prejudice against houndsmen and bear hunters. The wardens have their own moral dilema when it comes to enforcing bad laws. I'll admit there are bad hunters, but I'm not one of them and shouldn't be treated as such. So it came down to this: Bear hunting with hounds is currently legal in California. If the voters choose to abridge my freedoms they can keep me and my hounds out of the woods when they pry the leashes from my cold dead hands. -Pete

it's probably better to ask will you go that far to stand up for the heritages we are loosing. as it is happening now not in some speculative future. I personally couldn't stand around waiting to have my skull bashed in. I don't believe in non violence that much. I value my person way to much to allow someone to degrade it unpunished. I never understood the martyr train of thought all that well.

being an individual will put you on the outside of the law sometimes . conform and be a robot and everything will be fine .my buddy got a big place from the paper company that no other bear hunter can be on he was all excited . he likes to hunt other places as well . i told him when you get locked out of the other places you will not be so excited . especially when they raise the rates to the point he will no longer be able to keep it to himself and he is on the outside looking in . he had to agree with me at this point . the system breaks you down until theres no place to go . this is what this country thrives on even though the constitution says different. the older generation has seen the best of times and i envy them for that freedom.i would trade prohibition for the treehuggers any day.

prohibition would indeed be the easy choice as the social issues associated with the extremist thought process are headed the wrong way fast.
