F.N.G.
Howdy all, names Mike, live in Douglas Arizona. New to scent-hounds and curs. I was planning on getting a pack going and think a "Striker" bred cur would be a good start. I'm not a kid anymore so I'm guessing a cur would make for a shorter race than a hound. I'd like to hunt lion, cat, coon, maybe bear. Anyone have pups? Big John?

NO PUPS BUT WOULD GO WITH A GOOD HOUND ANY DAY

jbrown; Thanks for the input, why do you think starting with a hound would be a better option? I'm probably going to hunt on foot, so I want to cover as little ground as neccesary. (never shoulda sold my mule!). thanks, Mike
Re: F.N.G.
i would go with hounds for the race thats the best part for me when coon hunting you cant hear a cur dog very well but a pack of hounds running a hot coon thats hard to beat.

Just a word about the Striker or Cal Allen Curs They are not no Squirrel dogs they will hold their own with any line of hound both Darrel Fry & Cal Allen make a living with their dogs Garrett can get you in touch with both
