Dog House Roof Pitch

I'm building a new dog house, and I want the roof to be semi flat so the dogs can lay up there. But I want a little slope to it so the rain drains off. What type of pitch have you guys used that has worked well?

My old doghouses were completely flat with grooved horse trailer matts on top, water would drain right off, dogs loved laying on those matts and they are 100% water proof.

I use the plastic barrels now and they seem to work pretty good.My old wood houses were only about an inch or inch and a half taller In the front than they were In the back.
