Limestone?

I'm putting in a few spare kennels at my dads house and was thinking about lining them with limestone. Then I started wondering about the effects of lime on pads? Anybody have any thoughts or currently use limestone?

I have been using Limestone in my kennels for years. I like it but its hard to clean up.
