I have a gray full blood walker hound pup! WHY?
I just had a litter of puppies 8 total from a full blood male walker and a full blood female walker. This pup is maked like a typical walker hound except he is gray where the tan and black are he has tan points, around his ears and face. He has gray eyes. He is the largest pup in the litter. The parents are not realated at all. Where did this come from, has anyone ever seen this before?

Yes.... it actually seems to be a lot more common then people think.. It is a dilute gene (the pup's nose is not a true black or neither is the pupils of the eye) I have a dog who throws this a lot...
If you look on the UKC board, it seems the Sackett line seems to throw it a lot (even my dog isn't Sackett) and the other lines have it pop out often also.. They claim it is from the Finley River dogs.. but who knows..
I've kept the grey pup before.. Did everything the black ones would

i have seen three. one about ten years ago and two from different litters from a female of mine.female of mine was the old west coast type walker cat dog i bought from Elmer Blankenship as a year old dog. one breeding was to a straight house bred walker and the other to a 3/4 walker 1/4 trigg cross. both of the ones i had were allmost all white with a grey head and grey spot by the base of there tail. different colored eyes and lighter noses. i have one now that is just turning a year old and i love what i see out of her abilities, and like the color,. something different.

I'm real curious to see what you're describing here.. I'd love to see a picture of the pup with this color phase.
