dang hound dogs

Post by houndcrazy93 »

those dang hounds. My oldest houmd the one in my signiture really pisses me off some times. Today I was inside when I get a call from some one that the had my dog. So he's back now. But he jumped his 6ft high fence to get out. Then other times he gets out when I had him in a keel we got he will climp up the chainlink then walke bout six feet on a 2x3 railing . To the top of the door then hop out. Or he used to get a runing start and bouncs of one side of the fence then hit the other side and get out. Like in them martial arts movie. Sorry everyone I just had to vent bout my escape artist hound. Do any of you all got any interesting stroys bout your escape artists. Thanks everyone

I have a big blue dog that can escape from anything . You can collar him so tight he about gags .Turn your back and he is sitting there with his collar on the ground. What finally "broke " him was being on a chain , with a choker...in a locked 6 ft kennel . Now that he has gentled up a bit , he is just on a chain in his kennel . :D We are on the same page now .

Picked up a one year old redbone years ago for free out of the paper. Called the lady and asked why she was getting rid of him. "because all he wanted to do was chase her cat!". Picked him up and put him in a kennel. Had about a dozen dogs then. I came home from work and he was out along with all the females, but no males. Happened again the next day. He would let himself out and then let the females out. I put a latch on his kennel door and that ended that nonsense. He turned out to be my best and by far smartest dog ever.

I've got a small redtic that I have to keep on a very stout chain. He digs, tears up chain link, even goes through a dog house about every 7 months. I haven't found a swivel chain snap strong enough to last longer than about 8 months. My wife hates him, I see him as a chalenge to keep up with!

Ive got one that can flat footed jump out of a six foot kennel. I took some woven wire and stretched over the top of the kennel. This solved him from going out the top. He then started working at the bottom of the kennel and was loosening the chain link enough to make a hole and would get out that way. Took #11 wire a "sewed" every link down to the bottom bar...so far it has worked well. Looking forward to his next solution for freedom.

electrify the fence if they are chewing on them. after 2 shocks they quit for a while. mine has quit for a while now but i am waiting for her to start again but the cables are ready. don't need very much voltage just enough so when they put their mouth on the kennel they leave it alone.

ive got a black and tan thats just over a year old now and the fence is 10 feet high but the botom is made of boards as it was a pig pen but, he runs from one end to the other jumps up to the last board which is just under 4 feet then uses the speed and gets his front half of his body over the fence and flops the other half over doing cart wheels to the ground to say the least he doesnt land to gracefully hahahaha

Never have had a kennel for dogs except a bitch in heat; but did have a german shepard that was an escape artist from his chain. Couldn't figuire out how he was getting the clasp off till one day the wife is doing dishes and happens to look out the window and says David you have to see this, that son of a gun has the chain in his front paws stretched out in front of him head tilted and knawing and pushing back with chain to get clasp off. But honestly thats not the best part, me and the wife had to go somewhere a couple days later both him and a little female plott pup (who could never get off a chain if her life depended on it) where both chained up and when we get home they are both running around playing. So not only did he get himself off but decided it would be more fun if she was also off and somehow did her to. Needless to say I bought locking clasp for him after that.

My dogs are pretty good, but I have a horse than can open a Powder River gate even with the lock flipped down and a mule that can untie any sort of knot you can dream up... :D
