got to see my first tree yesterday. just a little female.

I tried to get my pup on her and she tried trailing, but ended up not making it to the tree. luckily she was smart enough to wait at the sled for us.

these are just pics from my cell phone so they're not the best.

Well I ended up going with Paul Downs. For sure the ones I know were his sister dog and his baby dog that pretty much treed this lion, then we got two of baby's litter mates lined out on it and they took it to the tree too, then a bunch of dogs came out of nowhere, lol I didnt even see them turned out  there ended up being 8 dogs on the tree and mine was the only one that we let out that didnt make it. Man was that a blast though!

This cat was kinda wierd though, she had deffinetly seen better day, she only had 3/4 of a tail and her ears were just nubs, we figured that was from frost bite. does this happen alot?

I had a cat last thursday with nub ears and a tail that was only about 2 feet long. When I first saw the cat I thought it looked a little strange. It took me a little bit to figure out what was strange with her. First time I had seen that.

Congrats on your cat.

Josh

Last year we treed a lion that had nubbed ears and then we also treed one that had a good bit of it's tail missing. The one with the nubbed ears wasn't but 4-5 years old and the one with the bobbed tail was a old timer 9-10 years old atleast thats what the g&f guys aged them at? I would say the ears are from frost bite, but the tail I don't know what would do that. I herd of some other guys in this area that treed a lion that had barely any tail. Where do you hunt at?

I wasn't wanting to know any of your hunting spots.just where at in Nevada. I have some friends over around Reno that say there are lots of lions in that area they are trappers and I think they told me they caught 2 lions in there bobcat sets last year. They said that there is very few lion hunters in that area. I am thinking about heading over there for a week to hunt and see some new country.
