Cameron blueticks

Thinking of getting one. not sure wether to get a male or female, it will be a cat dog. anyone have any suggestions? And are they as good as everyone says?

What other dogs do you have? Camerons are generally cold nosed gamey and have no quit.

You can't go wrong there. I'd reccomend a female.

I have two female pups I started from scratch and they're doing great.

I have a female black and tan, shes really hot nosed and wont hunt by herself. She was given to me by a old timer who cant hunt anymore. We have got a few coons but no cats yet. Im looking to get a cameron cause i heard their the best? But not sure wether to get one from del himself? Or jim harrel? Or somone else?

Have you hunted your BnT with other dogs? Does she hunt that way? Is that how you got the coons? How old is she?

For the new pup... I'd either try to hunt the parents or ask about what kind of hounds they are and why they were breed and if it is proven. I'd call and talk with each breeder you are considering and maybe get references.
