I've got a buddy who is pretty unlucky. He and his dad staggered their application by a year so they'd get one tag for each year. Well, he forgot to ask for just a point this year and he was one of the lucky 20 who got drawn. Pretty typical huh. Looks like he'll just have to double up this year.

Re: Wisconsin bear tags out!!!!
two people i know didn't draw this year one has 11 points now and the other has 9 both put in for a kill tag. when they called the dnr they were told and i quote" it is a lottery and just because you have the most points doesn't gaurantee u a tag". they both applied for area D my wife received a tag with seven points.

I'd about bet that they checked "preference" or something. If not, I'd go right down to the DNR office and raise holy hell. This is exactly the reason I print off my application so I've got a record of it.
As much as it pains me to say it, I've investigated numerous claims like yours with friends/buddies and every time the buddy was the one that screwed up, not the DNR. I know I sure wish I had a nickel for every time someone told me they had 8 points and didn't get drawn.

Re: Wisconsin bear tags out!!!!
i agree about the eight points and never drew a tag. both of these people had the dnr look it up and the dnr said yup u applied yup u choice to receive a tag and no you didn't draw. I feel sorry for the people that answer the phones especially these two cause they both got an ear full.
Re: Wisconsin bear tags out!!!!

Re: Wisconsin bear tags out!!!!
My wife and I both drew tags for zone A with 6 points.I have to agree with Nolte, everytime I hear someone say they had so many points and didn't get a tag, either they made a mistake on the app or they exaggerated how many points they have.It has been my experience with turkey tags,if you really did get screwed in the drawing, the DNR is willing to make it right.

I live in Fond du lac, and do not have any hounds, looking for some one to be able to take me along, to help me fill a tag. This is the first kill tag I have drawn, and am pretty well pumped.
