Rash? Maybe? ((PICS))

Post by Calkins »

So my dog has sort of a rash thing that started on the crotch of his hind leg. At first I thought it was Ring Worm but the spots have spread to the other spots on the crotches of each leg. The spots are pretty big and keep spreading. Anybody know what this might be or have any sollutions?

These are some pics of the rash. It's not the best quality but that's what it looks like under all 4 legs. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Dog looks like it was hung in a fence.
Except his privates are not red from abrasion.

What are you using for bedding?

What was the dog exposed to prior to this happening?

I think mange is caused by a mite?
Looks like snow on the ground?
Might be hard for a mite to travel in the snow.
I think there is oozing and hair loss from mange, i cannot see that.

I would suggest that it is from the bedding or even an allergic reaction to feed. I have been wrong before. I have a male who breaks out with a rash over certain dog foods (he can be fed them for a while before this happens) so we avoid any food with corn in it. And another one who breaks out in the summer time from straw. Almost like a heat rash I guess?

That is just what the rash on your dog reminds me of.

your right about mites being the cause of mange but straw is notorious for having mites, could also be any number of things wrong.

Liquid Benadryl?
If it clears it up it is allergy?

Well it shouldn't be from the bedding because I use cedar wood chips and he's used those his entire life.

I hope that there is improvement in the dog. you may also want to try a drying agent like cornstarch if its moist or a lotion type ointment if its dry and or scaley

I'm not exactly sure what this rash is caused from because it's came back again.
