trigg plott cross
has anyone ever tried this cross for bear. i think that it might be a good cross. just looking for some info, and opinions. thanks everyone

hound hunting isnt a sport, its a way of life
Re: trigg plott cross
As with any cross you need to look at the dogs on each side. Know what you want to accomplish by making this cross. Realizing that you could or will get like either side and any thing in between. Some trggs do not make good bear dogs. Make sure you have one that does like bear. What are you trying to accomplish? Faster plotts ? Better baying triggs? Maybe you should look for dogs that already have what you want. They are out there with years of breeding already behind them. Dewey

The guy I use to hunt with had half plott half trigg two out of the litter were outstanding bear dogs but the next cross didn't cut the mustard.
