rigging rack

Post by chad85 »

i was wondering if anyone had any ideas for me? i have a owens 2 door box extra tall with top storage.the top sotage is only 3/4 of the top of the box and then it drops off about 4 inches because of the the top storage. well what i was wondering is if any body had any ideas for a rigging rack for my dogs. i thought about rigging on the hood and then i thought eye bolts and short chains hooked to the dog box or truck bed? or maybe making a stand up seperate from the box? i also seen custom boxes with short aluminum square stock on top the box but smaller than a regular rigging rack but i dont no how to fasten it? give me some ideas and somr pics

Im not sure what your asking why cant you just build a rigging rack for the top of your box you have now? I built a box about 2 yrs ago for killemallboy it had the storage in the top and put a rigging rack on top of it. After reading over your post some more does the whole top open or just 3/4 of it? If its just 3/4 of it you could make the rigging rack 3/4 size to fit just what opens. Or build a rack thats soild in the front where it does not open then the 3/4 part that does open you can make it a little wider to fit past as it opens weld it to some flat bar to mount it down good to the top of your box. I will see if I can find any photos still around of the one I made for him.

the one owens has is for no top storage i called them they said it wouldnt work for my box.

but my box is made for mid sized trucks and the top storage isnt the whole length of the box front to back its more like 3/4s the length with like a 12'' spot with no top storage u should be able to c it on owens website plus the other problem i was thinking since it is extra tall the rigging rack would be over the truck going

i might have found a place that does custom boxs they make a box similar but there rigging bars are probably 12'' high what do u guys have them set at height wise

i have one of those boxes in my garage right now that ordered for or my budd,. he doesnt hound hunt but i was looking at it and i think if you angled the front of your rack back a litttle it would clear when you opened it, you might lose 6 in or so on top for the dogs tho. then i would measure from the top of your box to the top of your cab and see how much room you have.
