What makes a good bobcat dog? Do you want one that has a cold nose? Says alot on track? One that doesn't say much on track? What about track speed? Can you take a very good coon dog and turn him into a bobcat dog? Just would like for some one to deceive the perfect bobcat dog.
Thanks
Matt
Question about Bobcat Dogs?!?!
Re: Question about Bobcat Dogs?!?!
well it only takes a bobcat to deceive a bobcat hound.
a bobcat hound is generally smarter with less in bred traits. by this I mean track straddling or excessive treeing. and they have to run a track as well as it can be run for the conditions. they can't waste time on a track and have to move it to be successful. most aren't real open on a track but do open on scent. the traits that are found in different regions all kinda follow that recipe but have extras that vary. all my good ones run to catch the game. i like a good trail hound in my area and i also like a hound that runs to catch they don't always come in one package but it's nice when they do. most guys have solid opinion of a real bobcat hound. another difference is those dogs that can magical catch large numbers alone and those that run in a pack adding their talents when needed to make it happen.
