Garmin ASTRO 320 Photos

Post by Buddyw »

Just got some photo's of the new Garmin astro 320! Sorry I had to do a little work on the bottom of the image to try and figure out what it was going to look like since the photo wasn't showing that part, You couldn't tell what it was, I'm hoping there are some buttons on the bottom so we don't have to use the Touch screen for everything.

I've been looking at some things,

The Images that are shown here look like they are based off a Garmin 62 model. However the Information I received was to be based on Oregon touch Screen. We'll have to wait and see what all this means..

I don't know enough about the 62 or the Oregon to know the differences or the platform differences.

It'll be nice to finally hear something straight from them! It seems like aside from what you've let us in on, we've kind of been in the dark with this. After this weekend's expeditions with the two 220's we have I'm not too sure I want another Garmin.... We'll see what issues they've fixed and/or made!!

So I'm not seeing anything mentioned about the Touch Screen and the Oregon model as it was leaked to me, I think I was sent on a bit of a wild goose chase with that. (Point 1 for garmin!) The Photo I got was correct and looks like a 62.

The New Rino Radio's are based on a touch screen so that might be some of the confusion..

I like how they specifically spell out that they listened to Hound hunters and gave us what we wanted.. I don't know how much of an improvement it is, I hope the range is a true range increase and not just from using a different antenna.

I've listed them for 579, I had a couple guy ask to Pre-Order them. Send me an email and I'll start an email list for those who want one.

I believe it will be with a collar. The press release said $499 msrp for just the unit so I'm sure Buddy wouldn't run it higher!!

$499 is just for the Handheld 320 from Garmin directly. I'll have to see the numbers but this will probably be around 440 or 450 on my site

$579 is what I'll charge for the combo with a dc40 collar. garmin will charge 649 for the 320 combo.

I see that the 320 has a shorter range than the 220!
So much for that improvement :-S
