new to hunting

Post by duxtoyz »

hello, names chris and im new to the coon hunting scene. ive been out with friends and thoroughly enjoy it. i even went and bought a 7 month old blue-tick to train. shes very sweet and was originally a house dog. shes eager on a hide and opens up on a treed hide, but she just doesnt mesh with my other dogs. so im selling her to a guy near me. id like an older dog cause i dnt have the time for a puppy. i live in western washington state and was curious if anyone has an older dog theyd like to "donate" or sell at a cheap price. itl be a good starter and il get a young one later, i just want to get out there. anything helps. thanx. if u have anything my email is thedux2@q.com

Check out under the state sections. Look for the posting for OTHA. They have a water race and field trial event coming up on May 21st weekend over in Matlock. That would be a good place to get to know some locals and possibly find a dog.

bellingham is way up there. you might want to check out Oregon too if you haven already done so. LCHA is another club close by. Sometimes the local dog pounds will have a coonhound there. I've seen a few on the websites. Also try Craigslist, you have to search under pets, not under items for sale. CL doesn't allow selling of dogs for whatever reason.
