Should you keep the runt?
Should you keep the runt?
CAN'T FIND ANYTHING ON WHY PEOPLE DO OR DO NOT KEEP THE RUNTS OF A LITTER. WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS AS TO WHY OR WHY NOT? I HAVE ONE PUP THAT'S ABOUT A 3RD SMALLER THAN THE REST OF THE PUPS. SHE'S ACTIVE AND SEEMS HEALTHY, JUST DOESN'T SEEM TO NEED AS MUCH FOOD AS THE OTHERS.

i have heard a few people say they always keep the runt they turn out the best. i doubt thats always true but works for them i guess. my walker pup was the runt and she grew out of it just fine.

They often all grow at different times... I've seen the runts end up being the bigger ones. I have a runt and she's the same as the rest. My old man just picked up a pup who was a runt, for $700 less than the others, now he's the biggest and best looking !
