I'm a newby to this breeding thing. One of my old females got bred by accident and I got some good dogs out of it but thats the end of my breeding experience. I've got a 3 yr old female that the males started to get interested in on July 1st. About a week ago she acted like she would stand(a little tail flagging) but my male wasn't too interested to do the job. Now the last two days my male is going nuts for her but she's snapping at him. She bleeds very little so it's hard to tell whats going on with her. Any advice or a time frame on the heat process would be appreciated.
Could I have missed the boat and this is a fake heat (read this on another site) after the real deal? My male is 4yrs old and never did the deed before so ...

Re: Breeding Question
Some females heat longer than others. Also some females are picky about the mate. If she is ready to breed and accepts him shell cock her tail and back into him. I have a female that heats two-three days and another who heats for a month... its a joke.
