Another dog lost to the wolves.....
Another dog lost to the wolves.....
One of my hunting buddies lost a dog this week to the dam wolves in Wisconsin. It was young dog that was really impressive and his favorite.
Thrill of the chase

Sorry to hear that. Isn't that always the way it is though the good ones are the ones that end up getting lost or killed and the ones you that aren't really working out or doing much of anything and you don't care if you never see 'em again they never have a problem making it back to the truck.

F'in wolves. What a shame. Let's pack all these things up and put them on State Street in Madtown. See how they like them then.
Here is a link of all the conflict areas of the state. They list the recent problem areas and you can look back at previous sites too. From the sounds of it your friend was the one that happened over by Delta.

Did you see this Nolte, who uses a Blue Heeler for bear hunting?
"On July 25th, Wildlife Services confirmed that wolves depredated a bear training hound on private lands in Bayfield County. The incident, that killed a 1 1/2 year old male Australian heeler, occurred in the Town of Port Wing. The attack was probably due to the Orienta Pack that consisted of 2 wolves last winter. Wolves are currently using rendezvous sites and are are highly defensive of both pups and rendezvous sites. Hunters and dog trainers should be aware of the potential conflict between wolves and their dogs this season. The depredation occurred on private property and no caution area was created."

Hound,
I did see that. Heck I'd use one if it worked. It can't be any more worthless than some of the mutts I've got tied out.
It surely has to be a lot smarter.
