It was in the late '60s that I met Dale Lee at Fort Huachuca in AZ. I had read about the Lee brothers in outdoor mags and Dale had on a belt buckle that sqaid "Lee". I was thrilled to meet him and sit down and have coffe with him. I was working as a research biologist for the USFWS at the time. On one visit there was a phone call and it seems some chickens had been killed. Dale got his dogs and horse and I drove an old Dodge Power Wagon. On foot we found the scene of the crime and while the dogs couldn't pick up a scent Dale could track the critter! Treed it in a live oak and I shot it with my Ruger mark I. Had to climb the tree and knock it down so the dogs could play with it. A scruffy animal with red feathers in its belly!
Wow! To go on a hunt with Dale Lee! A thrill.

Re: Dale Lee
And to think I just missed Dale at the fort by 10 years, that's my luck.
