Attention Utah Houndsmen;
With all the changes in Utah this year let’s not forget that the fate of the Lions rest in our hands. It takes a hound to catch a Lion so let’s not take every Tom, Dick and Harry hunting when the HO opens up. Please let’s not be our own downfall. As most of you, I too would like something to chase in the future so please consider letting them live another day. We all know this is not the answer to fix the Deer Herd, so let’s not participate.
Thanks for your time.

Re: Attention Utah Houndsmen
Neff, I purchased the H/O permit not to kill anything only to be legal to carry a .22 pistol is all. But I do have a question for you, I noticed in the proc That it says minimum harvest quite often.
So does that mean if hunters don't fulfill the quota that government hunters will do the deed?
Also a heads up to you guys holding a pursuit permit, maybe I am blind but I didn't read in the proc where it states that you cannot have a weapon of any kind ( unless you possess a concealed permit) But the rule still stands. It is in the Utah laws section on the dwr site,
Take care Ken

Re: Attention Utah Houndsmen
i ve talked to some houndsmen around the basin an alot of guys have the attitude that the lions are goin to die anyways just as well be my dogs that goin to chew on them ... an thats the wrong attitude to have its that kind of attitude thats to goin to wipe the lion out we need to all stand together an not kill any whats goin to make better dogs a bunch of dead lion thats not makin any tracks or a pile to run next winter ? your not goin to stop the guides but we dont need to join in on the slaughter that the dwr wants to see take place .. chances are that the guides arent goin to kill any more than they usaully do every year but we dont need to take the guy from work your uncle or one of your buddies that wants to kill a lion.. whats more fun catch lion year after year or kill most of them of this winter an then next winter not find any tracks to run whats goin to be more fun
STAND TOGETHER GUYS I NOT WHAT IM NOT GOIN TO KILL THIS WINTER

We are the ones who can stop the slaughter of the lions. It's simple take a camera and shoot some pics. Your wife will still think you a tough man without bringing a lion home. And why would you help your freind who wants to shoot a lion? They don't feed your dogs for you when there aren't any lions left.

@ 2ndhound, that is a good question one of which I do not no the answer for. Hopefully someone will enlighten us.
@ spooke, I hope some of the boys will stop and think for a few minutes. Let's see here, we can all make are dogs better this year and then next year we wont even need to take them out of there kennels at home. No Brainer
