Young dogs chase bobber.

Post by bowtech36 »

Went out to check fresh ground after the rain in hopes of seeing some coon tracks. When we got there it had snowed, had no idea, we were looking for tracks on the road when we heard our female strike and take off then both dogs. We started to walk that way and then we heard them treeing. We looked to see where they came down to look for tracks but decided better get to them. They weren't far. We dropped down and found them, however they were stopped at a gigantic pine tree and we couldn't see anything in there. I don't know if it was hidden or it jumped out juking the dogs when we came to it or what. But we found bobcat tracks above the tree on the road and on a tall stump right next to the tree. It was exciting to hear the dogs run and tree let alone to know the dogs ran a cat track. There six months old.

i live in lincoln county nv. i have my dogs trained to run bobcat, lion, coon, bear. but its real tough to tree and keep one up for very long. we dont have big tall trees but what i found is when you can get in tall thick timber the cat will tree and stay awhile. it seems like they circle alot down here and get the dogs tied up fast but it is possible to catch bobcat here. ive caught a few around here but ive also ran alot more than i caught. lion here are simple they tree and stay real well. but at six month old and your dogs tearin up like that is impressive. bobcat is tough game.
