320 or tom tom

Post by johnadamhunter »

I really could not decide if this should be handled by pm to Buddyw, Steve White, and others or start a thread. Wanting as much input as I can get, I decided to post.

Here's the question...... Does a person need a tom tom and a 320 or is he as well served using his 320 when travelling? By travelling I mean casual or business travel not hunt related. Please share your opinions and thoughts.

Thanks

John,

Here's my opinion. It would be difficult to use the 320 as a Navigation device. Entering Addresses and such aren't what the 320 is really good at.

With that said I don't think I'll buy another Vechicle GPS either, Now that I've jumped to a smart phone, it does well enough for me as a navigation device that is what I use. I don't really use my Garmin or Tom Tom anymore.

I know some people still just want a phone as a phone, but if your open to getting a Driod or Iphone (I Like the Driod) it will have a built in GPS that will give you turn by turn directions.

My wife was wanting a GPS watch, And a Music Player for when she Runs She can play music, and Her phone keeps track of her Run, I like it because she has her phone with her now. Plus she sucks at getting directions, so it can do that just as good as the Tom Tom

Just my two cents.

Thanks Buddy. I guess I'm gonna have to become more "tech savvy". Heck, I don't even text on my phone. lol.

I Don't text either.. Although I've had to do it some for a few guys but I'm definitely not a text-er.

You might just check into it first, I'm sure someone around you has one ob them fancy phones that could show you. they might not trust you enough to let you touch it, but at least they would
show you!

I agree 100% with Buddy. Only advantage to a nuvi, or tom tom. Would be the screen size. Never used my commando for turn by turn. Screen is a bit smaller than any nuvi. Will pull up the google maps once in awhile if I get confused. Never lost, just confused 8)
