Have a question?
I have coin hunted and done some hog hunting. But I have only ever hunted once or twice with redbones and plotts. Never with black and tans. Just wondered if someone could tell me the differences between these three breeds. I mean other than the obvious color differences. I really like redbones. Just wondering if they hunt different size differences and voice differences. Is one more stubborn or Haney than the others. Just any differences those with experience have noticed. Thanks for your time.
Re: Have a question?
They're all the same or very close and by that I mean on black and tan maybe forty lbs with shorter ears and a chop mouth while another is 90 lbs with a bawl all the way and fourteen inch ears so pick a upholstery color pick a build then customize to your needs / preference and you'll be able to get just as close in one breed as someone who picked a different color. There's some in general rules but they have more to do with small areas then hounds through out the whole us . So write down what you want then start looking its out there and probably not to hard to locate what are your preferences?

Re: Have a question?
Right now I am just researching. But plan to be in Florida in 6 months to a year. Would like some hog dogs. I know I want a hound not a cur. From what I have seen and hunted with. I would like something fast loud gritty enough to make a jog stop but back up and bay.Something that isn't ill in a box and a decent handle. Oh yeah and intelligent. Would also like cold nose and long range. Thanks for all the help. Something bigger than your normal coonhound. Just like bigger dogs.
