Oregon Regs

Post by kbe119 »

Okay I have looked and looked but cant find any clear cut rules/regulations for running hounds. I know some of the basics as far as the seasons pursuit/kill but everything else seems limited. The one I'm curious about is if you need a bobcat card to pursue. I got my furbears but didn't know if I needed to get a bobcat card to pursue them. With as slow as things went for me last year trying to train I didn't buy one this year thinking I would mostly chase coons. But we have more snow holding in the mountains around here than usual so I went out looking for bob tracks. Found some and now I have the bug to get to chasen them. Any info appreciated. Thanks Kyle

I have often wonder if you had a western or eastern if you could pursue the other side or not. I would however think that you need a bobcat card for kill season.

Hay , Feller's this is the way I understand the regs after much reading and discussion with odfw personal and osp/gamewardens.Furtaker license hunting or trapping entitles you to pursue bobcat sept thru feb entire state open.If you have this you can hunt/pursue 24/7.bobcat report card/tags allow you kill cats either east or west.So no report card needed to pursue.Yes you can pursue east and west.Have FUN Boys !Ol'Curt 541 258 5468 or 570 2863
