Vitamin C

Post by Trueblue »

I read in an outdoor magazine that it is beneficial to give your dogs a high dose of Vitamin C when they are running real hard. The article said that it reduces muscle fatigue and speeds recovery time.Does anyone know if this is true, and if it is how much would you give a dog on a daily basis ? I also know that dogs produce thier own Vitamin C but the article said that it is not enough when the dog is under alot of stress.

New to me, I don't see how it'd be that beneficial. I mean it's worth a try but you'll never really know the difference most likely. Ask a vet before you go spending any of your money. I'm sure it wouldn't be real cheap.

if you use the vitamin c with a carbonate you can give your dogs kidney stones, the carbonate is to aid in the absoption of the vitamin c in the body. you are better off giving glucosamine for that
