Most memorable part...
Most memorable part...
Who or what was the most memorable part of the Gathering?
For me... its kinda blurred, but I would have to say that the fact everyone got along well. I really appreciated the ride from Jim and Bill to the motel. I faintly even remember talking to Wille on the phone even!

Re: Most memorable part...
Good idea tk, I have a lot of good memories but I will tell you one that keeps playing in my head every so often:
Mark showed me a short video on his phone. I have witnessed this myself, and could not beleive it when I saw it with my own eyes. I kept doubting myself until I finally found some one else who had seen the same thing. Now, Marks son shot a video of it which I never thought would ever be done. It is a video of a cat coming out of a log jam with the hounds right behind it. The cat does a 180 and heads right back into the dogs. This happens just as you see the dogs emerging. He slips right between the dogs untouched. Maybe I cant even say "untouched" because the space between the dogs was such that he might have touched a dog on both sides as he passed between. I would have to see it again to be sure.
Mark, I think that is the most amazing video I have ever seen. It plays over and over in my mind just as that day in the woods plays over and over in my mind. In both cases it offers potential answers to some of those mysterious un-answered questions about cat races that could only be heard and not seen.
Thank you for letting me see it Mark.
And that is just one memory from this amazing event. I look forward to reading some of yours...

Re: Most memorable part...
This was probably the best gathering of hound men ever in the U.S. The special fondness I have for everyone that i met will be forever in my memory!! Many thanks for all that helped put it together and look forward, God willing to seeing all next year. TK don't forget the Pendleton!
Special thanks to Dewey and Dena for the warm hospitality and ride from the airport!
Dena, don't get Dewey hooked on Herra-Dura or his hunting might suffer!!
Too many great things to say about everyone, so I will just shut-up!!

Mine is when tk took me aside and told me he really wanted to run walker dogs . ha ha ha ha . I think for me it was when everything was in place . I looked around the room and seen 30 different conversations . People laughing and having a good time. David , I will never forget you and your guitar. If carry clay was put on this earth with a purpose , it was to have a mic in his hands .

Re: Most memorable part...
Folks,
I am working on the Story of the Gathering with Pics while running Mom up and down the West Coast. We have started for home and will have it up soon.
Now the MOST memorable thing.....now that is going to be hard.
The Best is Pictured below....with the "Master Bobcat Hunters" gathered together!

I Bet this Pic is one of Tim Cooks favorites!

But my Best Memory is of JC standing next to me getting pretty darn emotional telling me "Out there are my Heroes". Then he said a line from one of my favorite "Feel Good" Movies....."They said to build it and They would come....well sure enough they have"!
Amen and God Bless JC and his Family!

Mr. Clay you are right, I was on cloud 9, not just by who's hand I was shaking but look at all the great bobcat huters that I'm surrounded by, I found myself in a circle talking to legends and heros all weekend! It was overwhelming
learned more in a weekend then a guy can all season.

Re: Most memorable part...
My Mother says that her Favorite part of the Gathering was visiting with all the Ladies who made the trip.
She also was amazed at how congenial all the Hunters were to each other.....there were no petty jealousies apparent...everyone seem to like each other and enjoyed visiting!
She also thought that the Oysters JC brought were a highlight!

Re: Most memorable part...
JC,
I am going to do my best to make it next year. And all though I didn't make it this year. Would like to say thanks for your hard work setting it all up. As no more than I am blind as to what hounds do. I am also not blind to the amount of work that you and others did to make something like this take place. GOOD JOB!!!!
Take care, Willie
