how many would live off the grid???
Hey everyone I have been thinking a lot lately about the hussle and bussle of life. And his many people wish the would just go live out in the woods. It would be a simple and hard life but really rewarding. Now I'm only 19 and really just starting my life. And wish I could live like this and hope I can one day soon. My question is why can't we still live like this. I see a lot of people wishing they could. I understand if you have a family and everything. But you really do t need much at all to live like that. Just the bare essentials. I would like to hear more in this topic from everyone on here. And hopefully we could all help each other out if this is your dream. Thanks Brady.

hound hunting isnt a sport, its a way of life

We have our private cabin on the lake. It has no electricity, no water and an out house. In the winter we have to go by snow machine 4 miles to get to it. It's all wired up for the grid but so far the closest pole is 3 miles. I enjoy it a lot. Don't know if I would want to live there full time though!!!

Been off the grid for 6 years. solar and turbine. Say good by to the microwave and push button coffee pot but you can still live pretty high tech. When you say grid people will assume you mean power, Like I did. Not just living like a hermit. Not sure what you meant but I like being self sustained.

Re: how many would live off the grid???
I live off grid in a remote area about 80% of the time...I love it you can still have some convieninces ...like I have Internet through Hughes net that runs off of my solar..if I have to I can run a generator. I would live here full time if my wife would but she doesn't like to stay here by herself while I'm out with the hounds. She comes up on weekends and I come out usually Sunday night or Monday morning...stay in town for a night and come back. I just have a camper trailer that I live in now but I bought a saw mill and plan on building a cabin...of course I'm fortunate that my wife has a good job and I have my own business that I can run from about anywhere as long as I have Internet service...the worst thing about where I'm at is there is no cell phone service so I have to use Skype and its not very good with Hughes net ..
I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately, to front only the essential facts of life, and see if I could not learn what it had to teach, and not, when I came to die, discover that I had not lived.
