How to get ride of worms

I am new to owning hounds. One of my dogs is getting real skinny because im pretty sure shes has worms. What do you use to treat this?

The best thing to do is go to your vet. And I say this not because your vet needs your help paying for his next vacation lol but because the ones you buy over the counter will only treat certain ones but the kind your vet has treats a wide spectrum so your not doing the whole trial by error

Then once your vet tells you what you need, go to the feed store or an online retailer and get it much cheaper.

First , go to a vet-- I am not much on using Vet$ BUT--- If that sucker has heartworms and you use something like Drontal, It can kill the adult heartworms which if they are killed all at once, can slug thru and kill the dog.. make sure it is heartworm free--

also do not use Task or Atgard wormer on a heartworm Positive dog-- that will also drop them..
if it is heartworm free then you have a lot of options.

Good advise on heart worm check. Will add keeping a sanitary kennel & area near kennel is very important in worm control. I have found one cc of ivamec, ( ivamectin ), 1% sterile solution injected under the skin every 30 days takes care of worms, EXCEPT TAPES. For tapes I use praziquantel. Can be bought as fish tapes treatment. Found this is the most cost savings and works well. I use the tape treatment every six months. Good luck Al
