alpha map ?

is there any way to stop those pins from always coming up on the map ? I wear my garmin around my neck and every time I go to look at the screen, there`s always a red pin marking a spot on the map or it moves to the next page that says go to. it seems anytime it bumps my chest it does it and I have to remove it or scroll back. I call garmin and they said that there was no way to turn off that function, but I hope someone knows how. it`s really annoying to the point that I use my 220 more than my alpha. would a gizmo help this problem out ?

You can't turn off the function of the red pin that I know of. It annoyed me also so I just got in the habit of locking the screen, whether I hang it or put it in my pocket, after each use. If you are on the map screen when you lock it, it will stay on the map screen. It also will keep you from accidentally correcting a dog if it bounces against something while walking. Hope this helps...

I always put mine on the compass screen and lock it also. Curious as to how others carry there system. Im thinking of getting a chest harness similar to the one I pack my handheld radio in. Right now just carry it in a chest pocket but always worried of losing it or having it pulled out when going through thick brush.

I bought a gizmo case and have not had that problem since. I`m sure it might happen again, but as of now it hasn`t. I think the extra padding around the alpha really helps and I don`t have to lock the screen.
