Question about drags

Post by CoonBaumer »

Would it matter if i used a drag to help a hound that has been hunted at least a dozen times in his life, and will do decent on a trail, but hasn't treed coons alone. Like if I got a drag together and then drug that for a long time and then put it up in a tree, for my dog to find... Would that help him or would it not cause an effect? He has seen coons and treed a couple of them, but that was with coons that he had SEEN go up a tree. Any advice would be helpful :)

You might try turning one loose in front of your dog by it's self so your dog can watch it run off, give it 15 minutes and let your dog run and tree it. JMO

Well he has seen quite a bit of coons released, so if I do it again, don't you think he is going to get messed up? I was thinking of not letting him seeing it and then releasing it, and then letting him find it. Bit the only thing is how would I get the coon their when my dog can smell the coon and then know that it's in a cage?
