blood in urine

I have a running dog that after a hard run he has blood in his urine and not long after he's done running it clears back up to normal. I've heard its nothing just means there running hard but just looking for other opinions.

I see it a lot in my running dogs. Was told dogs on high protein feed will do that when they run hard. It's just proteins being deposited in the urine. Seen it all my life on and off in my dogs and its never affected them. I'm no vet either so take it for what it's worth to you.

I have seen that in dogs that had very little, if any running dog in them. However, wise to keep a close watch on dogs any time blood is seen, one of the most common health issues. Al

thanks guys, I figured it had something to do with being dehydrated so I moved my watering schedule from 2 times a day to 3 adding hot water with food to make sure he gets fluids, I feed 26/18 food, he didn't do it today and he run for 4 hours hard. appreciate the responses!!
