How About Some Hare

Didn't know were to post this and this is my favorite section so.....
Went back into the wolf country were I try and stay out of and found a little honey hole of hares, even seen some kickouts!!! Ran same amount of time as yesterday but only managed to get in 6 1/2 miles on the dogs with no beaten trenchs to rerun.

Running hare is like a small version cat hunt, big loops out of hearing, getting in on the trench, just more controlled, lot of fun.

I never thought of the beagles as tremendous athletes, but your video leaves no doubt that they are. I have never been able to do much of anything through snow up to my neck, and even over my head at times. I cant even do much in snow over my knees. That is amazing that they can keep going through that stuff without stopping to rest every few feet. Amazing. I can see why you need several dogs, so they can take turns breaking trail. Looks like the hares enjoy it too. Fun for everyone.

I wonder what these white rabbits out here in ND are. I would have thought Jack Rabbits, but did not know Jacks turn white. They are huge by comparison. They move more like a deer than a rabbit. They eat up ground like an antelope. Any one using hounds on them?

David, what my dogs are going through is really nothing compared to what Keiths pack is running in, snow up there is waist deep POWDER clear to the ground!!!! Winters like this sort the real dogs out from the rest.
Those are probably white tailed jacks that you are seeing, I would sure like to try and put a pack of dogs on one!!!
